Indian actor Allu Arjun, known for his blockbuster films, was arrested on Friday, December 13, following a stampede at the Hyderabad premiere of his latest release, Pushpa 2. The tragic incident claimed the life of a 39-year-old woman, Revathi, and left her son critically injured. Authorities reported that the chaos ensued after Allu Arjun’s surprise visit to the Sandhya Theatre, which caused an uncontrollable rush among fans. The police have filed cases against the theatre’s management, the actor, and his security team, citing the lack of prior intimation about the visit as a contributing factor to the tragedy.
Three individuals connected with the theatre, including one of its owners, have also been arrested in connection with the incident. The police charged the accused under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and presented them in court, where they were placed in judicial custody. Meanwhile, the makers of Pushpa 2 issued an official statement expressing sorrow and pledging support to the bereaved family and the injured child. As the investigation continues, the incident has raised questions about safety protocols at high-profile events and the accountability of organizers and public figures alike.
