Recent infrastructure upgrades by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) have significantly eased traffic congestion, reducing delays by 50% at critical intersections.
The 500-meter widening project at the intersection of Omar Bin Al Khattab Street and Al Maktoum Street has introduced:
- A dedicated lane from the Clock Tower Roundabout to Al Khaleej Street.
- A new lane for traffic moving from Al Khaleej Street to the Clock Tower via Omar Bin Al Khattab Street.
- Increased capacity for vehicles traveling from Al Khaleej Street to Omar Bin Al Khattab Street and onward to Naif Street.
These improvements have increased the intersection’s capacity by over 20% and cut evening rush-hour delays by 47%, from 160 seconds to 75 seconds. The enhancements promise smoother traffic flow and a better commuting experience for residents and visitors alike.
