The Haram Mosque in Mecca has launched a free luggage storage service for Umrah pilgrims, offering convenience to those visiting the holy site. The storage facilities are strategically located near the Masjid al-Haram, with one to the east near the Makkah Library and another to the west near Gate 64. The initiative is managed by the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Masjid al-Haram.
To access the service, pilgrims must present their Umrah permits through the Nusuk app. Each pilgrim can store luggage weighing up to 7 kilograms for a maximum duration of four hours. However, valuables, food, medicines, and prohibited items are not permitted. A receipt will be issued upon storage, which must be shown to retrieve the items.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) highlighted plans to expand the service to cover more areas around the Haram, ensuring greater accessibility and convenience for visitors. This move is part of the authority’s commitment to enhancing the experience of Umrah pilgrims.
