Qatar has intensified its support for the Syrian people by dispatching a second humanitarian aid convoy amid ongoing Israeli aggression and internal challenges. Through its “Reviving Hope” campaign, Qatar Charity (QC) delivered essential supplies, including food parcels, winter clothing, hygiene kits, medicines, and medical equipment, to Aleppo, Hama, Idlib, and nearby areas.
The latest convoy of 24 trucks crossed the Turkish-Syrian border, overseen by Engineer Yousef bin Ahmed Al Hammadi of the Syria Response Team. This initiative follows the earlier delivery of 40 trucks of aid and aims to address the urgent needs of over 16 million Syrians affected by war, as estimated by the UN.
Al Hammadi expressed optimism that the relief supplies will help alleviate the hardships of winter and improve living conditions for the affected communities.
In a parallel development, Qatar reopened its embassy in Damascus after a 13-year closure. This marks a significant shift in regional relations following the fall of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime on December 8. Qatar’s embassy, located in the Abu Rummaneh area of Damascus, is now operational as regional and international leaders engage with Syria’s interim government.
Majid Al Ansari, a spokesperson for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reiterated Qatar’s dedication to supporting Syria’s journey toward security, peace, and prosperity. Qatar joins Turkey as the second country to re-establish diplomatic ties with Syria post-Assad, signaling renewed regional collaboration for Syria’s recovery and stability.
