Ministry of Public Works Initiates Radical Road Maintenance in Kuwait’s Capital Governorate

The Ministry of Public Works has commenced comprehensive road maintenance efforts in Kuwait’s Capital Governorate, beginning with Al-Faihaa. This initiative is part of new contracts covering 18 major road maintenance projects across the six governorates, aimed at addressing critical infrastructure needs.

Key Highlights:

  1. Focus on Prioritized Areas:
Maintenance efforts will prioritize the most affected roads before addressing less critical areas. The work aligns with recommendations from Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah to improve Kuwait’s infrastructure under the “New Kuwait 2035” vision.
  2. Ministerial Oversight and Coordination:
Minister Noura Al-Mishaan has directed teams to expedite project execution while ensuring adherence to agreed standards and timelines. A committee has been formed to supervise maintenance works, with engineers undergoing tests to ensure high-quality management.
  3. Current Maintenance Activities:
    • Cleaning and inspecting rainwater and sewage networks to ensure they are free from blockages.
    • Overseeing repair activities to guarantee compliance with technical specifications and pledged schedules.
  4. Public Cooperation and Road Closures:
The ministry has called on Al-Faihaa residents to cooperate with ongoing efforts, particularly regarding temporary road closures during maintenance.
  5. Commitment to Quality and Efficiency:
Minister Al-Mishaan emphasized the government’s dedication to completing road repairs efficiently, meeting required standards of quality, and resolving pending issues related to infrastructure.

This initiative represents a significant step in the government’s strategy to revitalize Kuwait’s infrastructure and ensure long-term benefits for the country’s road networks. Residents are encouraged to support these efforts to achieve the desired outcomes.
