Kuwait International Airport is preparing for a significant influx of travelers over the New Year’s holiday period, with an estimated 150,404 passengers expected between January 1 and 4. This forecast includes both departing and arriving travelers, with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) closely monitoring the situation. Abdullah Al-Rajhi, Acting Deputy Director General for Aviation Safety, Air Transport, and Civil Aviation Security at DGCA, revealed that during this period, a total of 1,159 flights are expected to operate, ensuring smooth travel across the airport.
In terms of passenger movement, 71,324 passengers are expected to depart from Kuwait, while 79,080 passengers are anticipated to arrive, marking a slight decrease in departing passengers compared to the previous year’s figures, which saw 126,694 departures. The breakdown includes 580 departing flights and 579 arriving flights during the holiday period.
Passenger traffic will be highest at Terminal 1 (T1), which is expected to handle 64,673 travelers, followed by Terminal 5 (T5) with 48,130 passengers, and Terminal 4 (T4) catering to 37,601 passengers. The most sought-after destinations from Kuwait during the holiday period are anticipated to include Dubai, Jeddah, Cairo, Doha, and Istanbul.
To ensure a seamless experience, airport authorities have assured travelers that all necessary arrangements are in place, with dedicated services and facilities to cater to the high demand expected during this busy travel period.
