Kuwait Braces for Cold Wave: Frost Expected in Desert and Agricultural Regions

The Kuwait Meteorology Department has predicted a sharp drop in temperatures starting Friday due to a high-pressure system carrying a cold air mass from Eastern Europe. The cold conditions will bring chilly days and very cold nights, with frost anticipated in desert and agricultural areas.

Weather Outlook

Friday

  • Day: Cold conditions with light to moderate northwesterly winds (8-32 km/h). Highs will reach 18°C to 20°C.
  • Night: Temperatures will plunge to 6°C to 9°C, with frost likely in desert and agricultural regions.

Saturday

  • Day: Cold temperatures continue, with northwesterly winds varying between 10-32 km/h. Maximum temperatures will range from 17°C to 19°C.
  • Night: Very cold, with frost expected as temperatures drop further to 4°C to 7°C.

Advisory

The Meteorology Department urges residents to take precautions, especially in frost-prone areas, to mitigate potential impacts on agriculture and daily activities.
