The UAE experienced a significant dip in temperatures, with Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah recording a chilly 1.9°C at 5 a.m. on Saturday, just a day after temperatures reached 2.2°C. The freezing weather led to frost formation on the country’s highest peak, where ice crystals were spotted floating in a stream and forming on car rooftops early Friday.
Although official temperature readings are provided by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), some observers shared evidence suggesting the temperature might have touched the freezing point of 0°C on the mountain.
A post shared on the UAE weather account Storm Centre at 6:22 a.m. captured the frosty scene on Jebel Jais.
Temperature Highlights Across the UAE

- Falaj Al Mualla: Experienced a low of 7°C.
On Friday, moderate to heavy rainfall swept across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and four other emirates. However, no rain was forecast for Saturday, with the NCM predicting fair to partly cloudy skies.
As the UAE braces for colder days ahead, residents and visitors are advised to prepare for chilly conditions, particularly in mountainous and open areas.
