The Ministry of Health, under the leadership of Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, has recently made significant updates to pricing regulations in Kuwait. A new decision has been issued to set prices for 12 nutritional supplements, which will now be included in the list of approved nutritional supplement prices as per Ministerial Resolution No. 75/2023. Additionally, the pricing for 289 medicines and pharmaceutical products has been approved, providing clarity on costs for various medical treatments.
Furthermore, Al-Awadhi’s decision also includes amendments to the names of 15 medicines and their formulas, which will be added to the list as part of Ministerial Resolution No. 74/2023. These changes are part of ongoing efforts to ensure the transparency and affordability of healthcare products in the region.
The Medical Engineering Department has also announced the launch of 14 tenders aimed at supplying vital medical equipment and accessories to departments at Mubarak Al-Kabeer and Jahra Hospitals, including those serving children and premature infants. Additionally, tenders for medical laboratory services for Chest Diseases Hospital and Sabah Hospital have been included. Companies wishing to participate in these tenders must be registered with the Biomedical Engineering Department and ensure compliance with the relevant guidelines, including submission of a certificate supporting national labor.
This move is expected to streamline healthcare services and ensure the availability of essential medical equipment and pharmaceuticals in the country.
