Kuwait to Ban Trans Fats in Food Products by May 2025

The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition in Kuwait has announced a ban on trans fatty acids (trans fats) in all food products, effective May 2025, as part of efforts to enhance public health and consumer safety.

A press conference scheduled for this Sunday will provide details on the implementation of the regulation, which applies to food establishments, factories, and suppliers.

Key Details:

Aligning with Gulf Standards

The initiative aligns with the Gulf Technical Regulation 2483 on Trans Fats and Product Contents, which highlights the health risks of industrial trans fats, linked to heart disease and other health issues.

This move reflects Kuwait’s commitment to promoting healthier food standards, fostering collaboration between government agencies and the private sector, and advancing public health priorities.
