On Sunday, Bahrain’s Al-Sanabel Orphan Care Society honored His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as the “Honorary Gulf Leadership Personality” for 2024. The accolade, presented during the third edition of the Al-Sanabel Award for Social Responsibility, recognizes His Highness’s exemplary contributions to charitable and humanitarian initiatives, particularly in orphan care across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
Professor Yousef Al-Abbasi, Chairman of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility, commended Sheikh Meshal’s leadership, emphasizing the transformative impact of Kuwait’s efforts under his guidance. This distinction continues a tradition initiated in the award’s inaugural year, which honored Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, followed by Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in its second edition.
The event was held under the honorary patronage of Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and supervised by Sheikh Salman bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Kuwaiti Ambassador to Bahrain, Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, expressed gratitude for the recognition, highlighting Kuwait’s longstanding commitment to global humanitarian causes and its focus on orphan care as a core value.
Dr. Abdullah Al Mutawa, Chairman of the International Islamic Charitable Organization, lauded the Sanabel Association’s efforts in championing orphan rights and promoting Islamic humanitarian values. He noted Kuwait’s continued leadership in global relief efforts, including initiatives supporting Gaza, Sudan, and Morocco.
The ceremony also acknowledged contributions from prominent individuals and organizations such as Dr. Abdullah Al-Mutawa, Dr. Majed Al-Azmi, and the Peace Society for Humanitarian and Charitable Works. The event showcased the collective dedication of GCC nations to advancing social responsibility and ensuring the welfare of orphans.
