Saudi Arabia has introduced stricter requirements for Indian workers applying for work visas. As of today, applicants must have their educational and professional qualifications verified before being granted a visa. This new mandate, confirmed by the Indian Embassy, requires candidates to present certified professional skill certificates. The Saudi Ministry of Labor had initially proposed this change six months ago, following concerns about the number of Indian workers lacking sufficient qualifications for their roles.
Additionally, individuals currently employed in Saudi Arabia will need to have their credentials verified when renewing their visas. With Indians being the second-largest expatriate group in Saudi Arabia, comprising over 2.4 million workers, this new requirement aims to ensure a skilled workforce.
