Over 150,000 Expats and 16,000 Kuwaitis Yet to Complete Biometric Registration

A total of 150,000 expatriates, 16,000 Kuwaiti citizens, and 70,000 Bedouns have yet to complete their biometric fingerprint registration, as per a security source. The Ministry of Interior continues its efforts by operating biometric registration centers across all six governorates, with participation steadily rising.

The source revealed that 45% of unregistered Kuwaitis include expatriates, diplomats, students, and individuals avoiding legal action due to financial or criminal cases. Similarly, some expatriates remain unregistered due to issues like absconding or other violations.

The Ministry commended citizens and residents who have complied with the biometric initiative, describing it as a vital national project aimed at enhancing security. The biometric system plays a crucial role in preventing passport fraud, identifying wanted individuals, and creating a secure electronic database for those entering Kuwait. Since its launch last year, the program has significantly strengthened security measures while streamlining processes for both residents and citizens.
