Kuwait’s Ministry of Information has introduced a new movie classification system to inform audiences about the age suitability of films screened in cinemas.
Lafi Al-Subaiee, Assistant Undersecretary for Press and Publications, announced on Wednesday that the system categorizes movies into specific age groups:
- G: Suitable for all ages
- PG: Parental guidance recommended
- PG 12: Requires children under 12 to be accompanied by an adult
- P15: Suitable for viewers aged 15 and above
- R 15: Restricted to viewers aged 15 and older
- R 18: Restricted to viewers aged 18 and older
This classification information will be displayed on movie tickets, and the system will take immediate effect following its publication in the official Gazette.
