Thiruvananthapuram Airport to Launch Direct Flights to Bangkok and London

In a major development for Thiruvananthapuram, the city’s airport is set to introduce direct flight services to Bangkok and London’s Heathrow Airport. AirAsia will operate the Bangkok route, while Air India Express is working on obtaining approval to start direct flights from Thiruvananthapuram to the Thai capital. Once the new planes arrive, Air India Express is expected to commence the service.

The introduction of these direct flights is expected to significantly increase the flow of tourists from Kerala to Thailand. AirAsia could announce the Bangkok service in the summer, while Air India is also progressing with plans for a direct Heathrow route. This new service will greatly benefit Malayali students in the UK, who currently rely on connecting flights through other international hubs such as Dubai and Singapore.

The announcement for the Heathrow service may come with the summer schedule. Additionally, two airlines already operate from Thiruvananthapuram to Malaysia, facilitating connections to destinations like Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, and Indonesia. Air India Express, Indigo, and Air Arabia continue to dominate the list of top carriers from the airport.
