Kuwait is scheduled to carry out the execution of eight convicted murderers on Sunday at the Central Prison, as confirmed by a security source. The executions follow the completion of all judicial processes, including final rulings by the criminal, appeals, and cassation courts, along with the ratification of the sentences.
Among the convicts are six Kuwaiti nationals (five men and one woman), one Egyptian, and one individual from the Bedoun (stateless) community. The Ministry of Interior, in collaboration with the Departments of Correctional Institutions, Criminal Evidence, the Criminal Execution Prosecution, and relevant judicial bodies, has finalized the arrangements for the executions. The process will be supervised by medical professionals from the Ministry of Health to ensure adherence to proper procedures.
This marks the first set of executions in 2025. Previously, six convicted murderers were executed on September 5, 2024, and seven in November 2022. The Ministry reiterated that these executions underscore the enforcement of final judicial rulings, carried out only after all legal options were exhausted to ensure justice is served.
