As the Ministry of Interior, in coordination with the Correctional Institutions, Criminal Evidence Departments, and judicial authorities, prepares to execute death sentences for seven Kuwaiti citizens and one Egyptian resident on Sunday, an eleventh-hour reprieve was granted to a Kuwaiti convict.
According to a security source quoted by Al-Qabas, the execution of the Kuwaiti involved in a murder case was halted following the waiver of blood money by the victim’s heirs. The necessary reconciliation documents were submitted to the Ministry of Interior and the Public Prosecution, effectively saving the convict from execution.
Meanwhile, the central prison is set to carry out the death sentences against eight others, all convicted of murder, following the completion of all legal proceedings, including trials at the criminal, appeal, and cassation courts, and the subsequent ratification of the rulings.
