Kuwait Banks to Close for Isra and Mi’raj Holiday on January 30

The Kuwait Banking Association (KBA) has announced that local banks will remain closed on Thursday, January 30, in observance of Isra and Mi’raj. Sheikha Al-Essa, the KBA’s Deputy Secretary General, confirmed the closure aligns with the official holiday schedule for this occasion.

Banks are set to resume operations on Sunday, February 2, following guidelines from the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK).

During its weekly meeting on January 14, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Cabinet decided to suspend work across all ministries, government agencies, and public institutions on January 30 for the celebration. Official activities will recommence on February 2.
