On January 23, 2025, Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior, led by His Excellency Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior, carried out a large-scale security operation in the Al-Shaab area.
The campaign focused on addressing traffic violations, drug-related offenses, and other legal breaches to bolster public safety. Authorities issued 1,324 traffic citations, arrested two individuals for drug possession, and detained eight people with outstanding warrants. Additionally, one individual was apprehended for violating residency laws, two for lacking identification, and three for absconding cases.
The operation also led to the confiscation of three vehicles tied to legal cases and the impoundment of five vehicles and motorcycles for traffic infractions. A juvenile case was referred to the Juvenile Investigations Department for further action.
The Ministry emphasized its commitment to regular security and traffic enforcement efforts to uphold law and order across Kuwait. Residents and citizens are encouraged to report illegal activities by contacting the emergency hotline at 112.
