India is set to commemorate its 76th Republic Day on January 26, 2025, marking the platinum jubilee of the adoption of its Constitution. The festivities will highlight the nation’s military prowess and cultural diversity at Kartavya Path in New Delhi. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will attend as the chief guest, and President Droupadi Murmu will lead the celebrations.
The parade, beginning at 10:30 AM, will feature 16 tableaux from states and Union territories, alongside 15 from central ministries and organizations, showcasing India’s vibrant cultures and achievements. India will also display its advanced defense technologies, including the BrahMos, Pinaka, and Akash defense systems. The Army’s Battle Surveillance System ‘Sanjay’ and the DRDO’s ‘Pralay’ missile will debut at the parade.
The theme of this year’s Republic Day is “Swarnim Bharat – Virasat aur Vikas,” symbolizing India’s heritage and development. The parade will proceed from Vijay Chowk to the Red Fort, culminating with a flypast by 47 aircraft.
This year’s Republic Day celebrations are special with over 600 panchayat leaders invited as special guests. These leaders have been recognized for their significant contributions in various government schemes, such as Har Ghar Jal Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and Ayushman Bharat, among others.
President Subianto’s visit makes him the fourth Indonesian president to attend India’s Republic Day celebrations, following the legacy of Indonesia’s first president, Sukarno.
