Mecca: Ahead of the upcoming Ramadan, the General Authority for the Holy Places has launched a new online platform for those wishing to distribute Iftar meals at the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina. Interested individuals must register in advance through the portal, with an option for voluntary organizations to apply for up to 10 meal distributions. Applications must be accompanied by a contract with an approved catering company.
The platform allows applicants to choose one location for their Iftar distribution. It also includes a menu with low-calorie options tailored for people with health issues like diabetes, featuring items such as dates, bread, yogurt, water, and additional items like juice, nuts, pies, and stuffed dates.
To apply, visit the “Iftar Meal Reservation System” on the official website: https://iam.alharamain.gov.sa/sso. Ramadan is expected to start on the evening of February 28 or March 1, depending on the moon sighting in Saudi Arabia.
