India’s Vision for 2047: Budget to Drive Growth and Equality

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed India’s ambition to become a developed nation by 2047, emphasizing that the youth will be the primary beneficiaries of this transformation. Speaking ahead of the budget session, he expressed confidence that the upcoming budget would infuse new energy and optimism into the country’s progress.

Before the session, the Prime Minister paid homage to Goddess Mahalakshmi, praying for the prosperity of the poor and middle class. He highlighted that India, having completed 75 years of democracy, has been entrusted with a third consecutive term by its people. He described the budget as a pivotal one, designed to accelerate reforms and reinforce India’s development path.

Addressing a joint session of Parliament, President Droupadi Murmu emphasized that equal opportunities are being ensured for all citizens. She outlined several key initiatives, including:

  • Establishing 1.75 lakh health centers to provide universal healthcare
  • Waiving duties on cancer medicines to make treatment more accessible
  • Boosting the aviation sector with an order for 1,700 new aircraft

The President also highlighted India’s global leadership in digital technology, with UPI payments gaining international recognition. She underscored the India AI Mission, launched to position India as a hub for artificial intelligence innovations, and praised the credit guarantee scheme for MSMEs and e-commerce, which is driving growth across industries.

“The government is leveraging technology to ensure social justice and equality, making India a hub for new ideas and innovation,” she added.
