Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the temporary closure of five major roads on Sunday, February 2, to accommodate the L’Étape Dubai Cycling Race 2025.
The affected roads include Oud Metha Road, Dubai-Al Ain Road, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Road, Expo Road, and Lahbab Street. Motorists are advised to use Ras Al Khor Road and Emirates Road as alternative routes and to plan their journeys in advance.
The race will begin at 6:30 AM from Dubai Design District (D3) and cover 101 km, finishing at Expo City. Cycling legends, including Ján Svorada and Peter Velits, will participate in the event.
L’Étape Dubai, inspired by the Tour de France, features two race categories:
- “The Race” (101 km) for experienced cyclists.
- “The Ride” (50 km) for amateur riders.
Both routes will showcase Dubai’s iconic skyline and desert landscapes, offering participants a unique cycling experience.
