The 2024 Global Hunger Index report confirms that Kuwait continues to be among the world’s least hungry nations, maintaining a hunger rating of under 5 points. This score places Kuwait in the top tier, a ranking it shares with 22 other countries, including the UAE, all of which achieved identical scores.
The Global Hunger Index evaluates nations based on four key indicators: the proportion of undernourished people, the percentage of children under five who are wasted, the rate of stunting in children, and the under-five mortality rate. Historical data reveals that Kuwait has consistently recorded scores below 5 in every edition of the index, demonstrating robust and stable food security.
In the Gulf and Arab regions, these results underscore that Kuwait and other Gulf Cooperation Council countries remain at the forefront of achieving minimal hunger levels. This success is largely attributed to the region’s economic stability and effective food policies.
