Abu Dhabi: UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has unveiled the top-performing and underperforming government departments in the country. This initiative is part of the Bureaucracy Elimination and Reduction Movement, launched in late 2023, aimed at enhancing accountability, efficiency, and public service quality. The rankings are based on government department performance throughout the past year.
Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that the assessment ensures improved services and a better quality of life for UAE residents.
Top-Performing Departments
The Department of Justice secured the top position, followed by the Department of Home Affairs in second place and the Department of Energy and Infrastructure in third. Sheikh Mohammed praised these institutions for their efficiency and dedication to public service.
Underperforming Departments
Among the lowest-ranked departments, Emirates Post was identified as the worst performer, followed by the Pension Authority and the Ministry of Sports. Sheikh Mohammed urged these departments to enhance efficiency and accelerate decision-making to improve their rankings.
This is not the first time the UAE government has conducted and publicly shared performance evaluations. In 2020, the government introduced the ‘UAE Mystery Shopper’ app, a tool designed to assess service quality and customer satisfaction.
