Kuwait Unveils the Largest Judicial Edifice in the Middle East

The Palace of Justice is one of Kuwait’s most significant development projects and stands as the largest judicial institution in the Middle East. This monumental project marks a transformative milestone in enhancing the country’s judicial infrastructure and modernizing its legal framework.

Spearheaded by the Amiri Diwan, the initiative aligns with Kuwait Vision 2035 – “New Kuwait”, reflecting the nation’s commitment to progress and innovation. The Arab Engineering Consulting Office, a Kuwaiti design firm, led the project’s architectural design, ensuring a balance between national identity and global standards.

Construction commenced in early 2019, with record-breaking completion rates achieved through advanced Fast Track methodologies. The first phase of the 210,000-square-meter complex includes 68 courtrooms, six of which are state-of-the-art media halls. It also features 184,000 square meters of office and support spaces, designed to meet the highest security and safety standards while optimizing movement within the facility.

The Palace of Justice has gained regional and international recognition for its remarkable architectural design, securing multiple prestigious accolades at the MEED Projects Awards 2024. It was honored as the “Project of the Year” in the Middle East and North Africa, “Building of the Year” in Kuwait, and a “Regional Winner for its outstanding contributions to urban development.
