Sheikh, Ministry Official, and Doctor Arrested for Drug Trafficking in Kuwait

Kuwaiti authorities have arrested three citizens—a member of the ruling family, a high-ranking official in a ministry, and a doctor from the Ministry of Health—on charges of drug trafficking. The operation, led by the General Department of Drug Control under Major General Hamed Al-Dawas and Brigadier General Mohammed Qabazard, resulted in the seizure of half a kilogram of narcotics and a sensitive scale.

The arrests followed a covert investigation in South Surra, where detectives tracked a drug dealer based on information from previously arrested addicts. The suspect, a ministry leader, was caught in a sting operation and confessed to obtaining drugs from a doctor. Upon arresting the doctor, authorities found heroin and marijuana at his residence. Further investigations led to the arrest of a sheikh in Rumaithiya, where officers seized additional drugs.

All three suspects have been referred to the Public Prosecution and are facing charges of drug trafficking. They have been detained pending further investigation.
