A Public Security officer from the Ahmadi Security Directorate sustained multiple fractures and bruises after being intentionally run over by a wanted liquor dealer in the Abu Halifa area last night. The incident occurred when a security patrol stopped a vehicle for inspection, but the driver refused to comply and attempted to flee, striking the patrol leader in the process.
Following the attack, backup patrols from the Public Security and Operations sectors were immediately dispatched to the scene. As officers arrived and cordoned off the area, the suspect abandoned his vehicle and tried to escape on foot. However, Ahmadi support patrols swiftly tracked him down and arrested him before he could evade capture. Upon searching his vehicle, officers discovered several bottles containing suspected intoxicating substances and imported alcohol.
The injured security officer was transported to Al-Adan Hospital, where medical examinations confirmed multiple fractures. Authorities have taken the necessary legal actions against the suspect, who has been referred to the competent authorities for further investigation.
