Dubai motorists should expect temporary road closures today (Sunday, February 23) as the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge takes place. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has advised residents to plan their journeys in advance and consider alternative routes, as major roads will be inaccessible from 6:00 am to 10:30 am to ensure the safety of race participants. Traffic signals and roundabouts along the route will also be temporarily suspended.
The 15th edition of the cycling event will begin at Expo City Dubai and pass through key routes, including Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, Hessa Street, and First Al Khail Street, before returning to Expo City. Road diversions will be in place just before the race starts. Motorists are advised to check affected areas and leave early to avoid disruptions.
Key traffic restrictions include limited access to areas such as Al Reem, Damac Hills, Mira Oasis, Global Village, The Villa, Arabian Ranches, Studio City, Motor City, Sports City, Jumeirah Golf Estates, Al Barsha, Springs, Jumeirah Park, and Emirates Hills. Road closures will vary in duration, with some lasting until 9:50 am.
