Dubai is set to unveil the world’s first 3D-printed mosque, with construction now expected to be completed by 2026 instead of the originally planned 2024 launch. The groundbreaking project, located in the Bur Dubai area, uses advanced 3D printing technology to create a 2,000-square-foot structure that will accommodate 600 worshippers at a time.
Alongside this innovative project, Dubai is also constructing 55 new mosques at a total cost of 475 million dirhams, with a combined capacity of over 40,000 worshippers. Additionally, authorities have allocated 54 more locations for future mosque construction, ensuring continued expansion of prayer facilities across the city.
To enhance sustainability, Dubai’s Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) is developing a ‘Mosque Guide’ aimed at achieving a 7-star rating for eco-friendly mosque designs. This initiative aligns with Dubai’s commitment to using cutting-edge technology and sustainable construction methods for places of worship.
