The UAE Fuel Price Committee has announced that petrol and diesel prices for January 2025 will remain unchanged from December 2024. The unchanged rates will be effective from January 1 and are as follows:
- Super 98 petrol: Dh2.61 per litre
- Special 95 petrol: Dh2.50 per litre
- E-Plus 91 petrol: Dh2.43 per litre
- Diesel: Dh2.68 per litre
This marks a continuation of the downward trend seen in the latter part of 2024, reflecting stability in global oil markets.
A year-long review of petrol prices highlights the fluctuating rates aligned with global trends, starting at Dh2.82 per litre for Super 98 in January 2024 and peaking at Dh3.34 in May. Rates began declining from July, with significant drops observed in October and November, eventually stabilizing in December.
The UAE deregulated petrol prices in 2015, aligning them with international market rates. Since then, the Fuel Price Committee has revised prices monthly, aiming to reflect global oil price movements and ensure transparency.
Consumers can expect consistent fuel costs this month, aiding in better financial planning for households and businesses.
