Anway Dravid, the son of Indian cricket legend Rahul Dravid, impressed with a stellar century in the Vijay Merchant Trophy. Playing for the Karnataka U-16 team in the quarter-final against Punjab, Anway scored 110 runs off 234 balls at the ADSA Railway Cricket Ground in Ahmedabad. His knock included 10 boundaries, showcasing his technical prowess and composure at the crease.
This century marks Anway’s second in the tournament, having previously scored an unbeaten 100 runs off 153 balls in a match against Jharkhand. Anway has been in excellent form throughout the tournament, accumulating 459 runs in eight innings, including two centuries and three half-centuries, making him Karnataka’s top scorer.
In the match, Punjab batted first and declared their innings at a massive 742/9. Gursimran Singh led the charge for Punjab, scoring a remarkable double century—230 runs off 426 balls. Six other Punjab players also contributed centuries, adding to the team’s formidable total.
