Dubai: Dubai International Airport has maintained its position as the world’s busiest international airport in 2024, with a total of 60.2 million passengers passing through its terminals.
According to aviation analytics firm OAG, international airline capacity increased by 7% in 2024 compared to 2023 and rose 12% from 2019 levels. The ranking for the busiest international airport is determined based on international airline capacity, while the list of the 10 busiest global airports considers overall airline capacity.
Dubai Airport ranks second among the busiest global airports this year. It offers flights to 269 destinations across 106 countries and is served by 101 international airlines. The majority of flights from Dubai connect to India, Saudi Arabia, the UK, and Pakistan.
In the first half of 2024 alone, approximately 45 million passengers traveled through Dubai International Airport, solidifying its status as a key global aviation hub.
