Air India has announced an increase in its free baggage allowance to 30 kg for passengers flying between the UAE and India. In addition to the 30 kg free check-in baggage, passengers can carry up to 7 kg of cabin baggage. Those traveling with infants will benefit from an additional 10 kg of free check-in baggage, allowing families to carry up to 47 kg without any extra charge.
This enhanced baggage allowance, effective immediately, applies to routes between India and the UAE, as well as other Middle Eastern destinations. The new policy aims to provide added convenience for families traveling with young children, who often require extra items such as food, diapers, and baby care products.
Air India’s increased baggage allowance comes as part of a competitive move within the Gulf airline market, where several carriers have already expanded their baggage offerings. With this change, Air India hopes to better meet the needs of its passengers traveling to and from the Gulf region, one of the busiest air routes in the world.
