Abu Dhabi has retained its title as the world’s safest city for the ninth year in a row, according to the 2025 ranking released by Numbio, an online database company. The city secured the top spot out of 382 global cities due to its commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents, visitors, and citizens, as well as its continuous improvements in security measures, initiatives, and projects.
Major Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Police, expressed pride in the city’s commitment to promoting values of tolerance, coexistence, and peace. He acknowledged the contributions of employees and institutions under the General Command of Abu Dhabi Police for their role in improving police, transportation, and security services.
The ranking took into account factors such as crime rates, safety, quality healthcare services, and cost of living, with Abu Dhabi ranking first for safety when walking alone. This reinforces the city’s position as the best place to live, work, and invest securely.
