First Phase of Kuwait-Saudi Railway Project Awarded to Turkish Firm PROYAPI

The Central Agency for Public Tenders has announced the award of the contract for the study, detailed design, and preparation of tender documents for the first phase of the railway project to the Turkish company PROYAPI.

According to a statement by the agency, the first phase of the project will involve providing detailed design services and preparing the necessary tender documents. This phase is set to last 12 months, after which the tender for the project’s implementation will be issued.

The project’s timeline indicates the completion of the railway construction by 2030. The railway track will stretch 111 kilometers, linking Kuwait to Saudi Arabia. Kuwait will serve as the northern hub of the Gulf railway, with the passenger station located in the Shaddadiyah area, spanning two million square meters. The Gulf railway will ultimately connect Kuwait to Saudi Arabia, and then extend through the rest of the Gulf countries.
