Manama: Bahrain has arrested 50 individuals in the past year for human trafficking and illegal immigration offenses. The arrests were made as part of the country’s ongoing efforts to combat organized crime and human exploitation.
According to the Anti-Human Trafficking Directorate, under the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, 22 human trafficking cases were handled between January 2024 and January 2025. These efforts resulted in the arrest of 50 individuals, with authorities also providing assistance to 42 victims during the period.
The General Directorate confirmed that all arrested individuals have been referred to the Public Prosecution, and necessary legal actions have been taken. The Directorate reiterated its commitment to implementing national laws and upholding international agreements to protect victims and ensure justice.
Bahrain’s authorities have vowed to strengthen their efforts against human trafficking and other forms of exploitation. The public has been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to human trafficking.
