The flight was arriving from Minneapolis when the incident occurred. Among the injured, three individuals are in critical condition, including a child, and have been rushed to the hospital.
Toronto Pearson Airport confirmed that emergency teams responded promptly and all passengers and crew were accounted for. Delta Airlines acknowledged the incident and promised further updates as information becomes available. Federal Transport Minister Anita Anand stated there were 80 passengers onboard.
The crash comes amid a severe snowstorm that impacted eastern Canada on Sunday, with strong winds and freezing temperatures still affecting Toronto on Monday.
