Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has begun accepting Umrah bookings for the first half of Ramadan through the Nusuk app, allowing Muslims worldwide to secure their pilgrimage slots. According to the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, early booking trends show moderate reservations for the first day of Ramadan, expected to begin on March 1. However, demand has surged for the first two Fridays of Ramadan, while bookings for other days remain relatively low.
As Ramadan is the peak season for Umrah, Saudi authorities have intensified preparations to accommodate the increasing number of pilgrims. Every year, Muslims from within and outside the country flock to Mecca for Umrah, engaging in prayers and rituals during the holy month. The current Umrah season, which started in late June, continues uninterrupted, following the conclusion of last year’s Hajj pilgrimage.
After completing Umrah in Mecca, many pilgrims extend their journey to Medina, visiting the Prophet’s Mosque, Islam’s second holiest site, and other historic Islamic landmarks. With bookings now open, Saudi Arabia aims to streamline the pilgrimage experience, ensuring smooth and efficient arrangements for worshippers during this sacred period.
